About The Event
“Most writers produce their memoirs a lot later in life. After they have written their fiction, their stories, they sail into their own life to examine. So in many ways I’m doing this backwards. It’s not intentional. It just sort of happened. Like a hole in a pipe it just started leaking. At first a soft dribble that would find its way into my fiction. Thinking I had it under control, not realising after a while that the bucket I had put under it was overflowing and flooding everything overnight. This is all that was washed ashore. Those days. These are the things I have noticed.”
Is what I wrote as an intro in my first poetic memoir Things I Have Noticed – Essays on leaving/searching/finding, published in 2020.
In this hands-on creative writing workshop I will give you tools and inspiration to start your own journey of personal essay/ memoir-writing.
Within a small group we will discuss your ideas, texts and different techniques so that you will leave this workshop inspired and ready to write.
Preferrably you will book both workshop days, so that you have the chance to put what you've learned into practice and receive feedback.
However both workshops work singularly and it is not mandatory to write an essay draft in between.
